Music Video Production with Cinematic Rhythm & Intent

I turn sound into cinematic motion — shaping energy and intent into visuals that connect with an audience, not just fill a screen.

Music videos are where I developed my understanding of movement — not just how it looks, but how it feels, flows and holds attention.

What started as an early project quickly became something more. A direction. A discipline. A way of thinking about rhythm, pacing and visual storytelling that has been refined over decades of real work — meeting deadlines, solving problems and crafting films that need to communicate clearly and quickly.

Working with Oldham-based rapper D-Tox on his album ‘Rehab‘, the “Make You Cry” video combined green screen filming with layered motion graphics and evolving visual styles. It became a space to experiment — pushing into After Effects, testing ideas, and discovering how design could move, react and carry energy.

The project gained attention beyond the university — including coverage from the Manchester Evening News — and opened the door into the music industry.

That experience still shapes how I approach every project — ensuring every frame carries rhythm, clarity and intent.

From static design to motion-led storytelling

Design stopped being static — it became something that could flow, react and carry energy.

Music video production became the proving ground for that shift — where timing, pacing and visual decisions had to work together as one.

From that point on, everything moved into motion. Filming, editing, animation and design weren’t treated as stages, but as one continuous process — shaping how a story is built from the ground up.

Each project deepened that understanding — how pacing holds attention, how composition guides the eye, and how sound translates into movement.

That foundation still underpins everything I create today. It’s where motion stopped being a tool — and became the language itself.

A career built through rhythm and repetition

What followed was a sustained period working across music video production — building instinct through repetition and real-world delivery.

Projects ranged from raw performance-led visuals to more stylised, motion-driven pieces. Each one sharpened the same core skill: understanding how visuals and sound work together to hold attention.

Over time, that became instinctive. Not just how to make something look good — but how to make it land.

These years built the foundation for everything that followed — from cinematic storytelling to motion-led creative direction.

This is where the work stopped being experimental — and started becoming reliable.

From music videos to MUVE®

The approach developed through music video production still underpins the work today — now applied with greater focus and clarity.

What began with experimentation has evolved into a more deliberate process — combining cinematic video, motion design and storytelling into a unified way of working.

That approach now carries across every project — from brand films to motion design systems — ensuring the work not only looks strong, but communicates with purpose.

MUVE® is the result of that evolution — a more refined, connected creative direction shaped by years of real experience.

Built on trust, proven through delivery

The same principles developed through music video production now shape how I approach every project, regardless of format or platform. The work itself is only part of it — how it’s delivered matters just as much.

Yet another extremely tight deadline for Nice & Polite, but we knew we could depend on Scott to help us deliver a visually demanding and psychedelic lyrics music video animation for Neiked in time for the release of their smash hit ‘Sexual’. He never fails to deliver on time.

“Never Go Back” was the third video I’ve made with Scott, and I think it’s the best one. With limited resources, he pulled together a quirky representation of the track. It was a mad day filming — everyone was wondering if it would work — but his masterful editing made total sense of the whole thing.
